(Munster, IN) – Some updates on Dark Lord Day 2011.
The following comes from Three Floyds‘ Lincoln Anderson:
1. Gates open at 10:00 am
2. The Darklord bottle limit will be 4 bottles per person.
3. There will be a lottery for extremely limited, hand bottled, hand numbered barrel aged variations. Guests will exchange their event tickets for a Golden Ticket with a scratch off section. If their ticket scratches off as a winner, they will have the opportunity to purchase one bottle of one of the four variations in addition to the 4 bottles of Darklord. The variations are:
Darklord aged in Pappy Van Winkle 23 year barrels
Darklord aged in brandy barrels
Darklord aged in brandy barrels with vanilla beans
Darklord de Muerte, DL aged in bourbon barrels with ancho and guajillo peppers
These hand bottled, hand numbered, hand waxed bottles will sell for $50.00.
Also of note, the guest tap list is posted over on DarkLordDay.com. It looks like Founders Brewing will be the best-represented guest brewery on tap though there are at least a few dozen beers to check out.

(Munster, IN) – A few announcements tonight on one of craft beer’s biggest parties of the year.
Three Floyds Brewingupdated its website with some preliminary details regarding this year’s Dark Lord Day event. Here are a few highlights:
The event will take place on Saturday, April 30th.
These tickets will tentatively go on sale on March 17th. The time of the sale is yet to be announced.
The biggest change for this year is that a ticket will be required to attend the event. This ticket will also guarantee bottle allocation. Regrettably, changes have to be made to ensure the longevity of the event, safety and shorter lines. Without the ticket, there will be no admission to the premises. More information on ticket sales will be made available in the coming weeks.
It’s worth noting that March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, a tradition the brewery is continuing from prior years.
Three Floyds’ “Minister of Propaganda,” Lincoln Anderson, was on Beer Advocate answering questions on Friday night.
