From an April 25th Facebook update, “Rob Martin, owner of Mercury, just gave us the green light for CT! Not sure how fast we will determine a distirbutor and get beer there, but it will be soon!”
From a May 6th blog post, “[...] we discussed making a collaborative beer between Three Heads Brewing and Clown Shoes Beer, to be released during the heat of this year’s presidential campaign: Third Party Candidate.”
Thieves have stolen two bronze urns that marked the graves of Olympia Brewing Company founder Leopold Schmidt and his son in Tumwater. The urns weigh about 75 pounds each and held fresh flowers as requested by Schmidt before his death in 1914.

Gov. Robert Bentley has signed the Gourmet Bottle Bill into law, paving the way for bigger bottles of beer to be produced and sold in the state.
TUMWATER, Wash. -- Thieves have stolen two bronze urns that marked the graves of Olympia Brewing Company founder Leopold Schmidt and his son in Tumwater.
Gov. Robert Bentley has signed a bill on Wednesday to almost double the size of bottles beer can be sold in. Previously beer could only be sold in containers up to 16 ounces. Beer can now be sold in bottles up to nearly 26 ounces under the new law.
This takes effect on August 1st per Free the Hops. As of 2:15pm EST, Free the Hops hasn’t said anything about a Senate vote for the homebrew bill so I think it’s safe to assume that it’s dead for this session. Today is the last day that the Senate can vote on it.

Just some follow-up to the recent news that Perpetual Imperial Pale Ale is going year-round.
Perpetual Imperial Pale Ale will be available in all Tröegs markets by mid-June as a year-round beer. “With the opening of the new brewery and increased production capabilities we’ve wanted to start adding beer to our line-up since opening in October 2011,” said Chris Trogner. “In early March we finally caught up with customer demand and we are excited to finally add a new year-round beer to our roster.”

A sad story regarding the murder of eight workers at a Budweiser wholesaler in Connecticut in 2010 took a strange turn last week…
State officials have launched an investigation into an anti-racism website set up by the mother of a man who killed eight employees at a Manchester beer distribution warehouse. Lillie Holliday’s site, www.ostmemorialfund.com, is set up as a memorial for her son, Omar Thornton and solicits donations to fight institutionalized racism.
It was the lead story on a local Fox News affiliate (video).
